Santa Blues

Can you believe it's February already?  Time seems to be passing faster each year, good thing I'm making some more Christmas cards. Come and join us at CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra and you'll be ready for Christmas too.
We are sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps so I have used Chimney Santa for my image this month. He's printed on plain white card and coloured with alcohol markers. I chose to go non traditional this time, a continuation of my blue period, I do seem to have made a lot of blue cards recently.
I trimmed the card of mt main image and rounded off the corners, them matted him on some silver card. I cut another piece of white card the same size and rounded the corners on that one aswell. I used the same marker to colour the edges that would be seen and tucked it behind the image card.
With an embossed background I chose to add my sentiment to the plain blue card, it's more visible and easier to stick down.
The background is white card embossed with a snowflake folder that was inked up with Perfect Medium before passing through the machine, this makes the depressed side sticky and ready for Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder in a very pale blue. To fix this I have given it a light spray with hairspray. The whole thing is then mounted on a white A6 card blank.
It may seem a bit crazy to some that we are making  Christmas cards already, but believe me you'll be glad you did come November. Pop over and take a look at all the DT inspiration on CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra.

  4. Very pretty! Love what you did with that embossing folder; such a great idea. And blue is my favorite color, so blue cards are always good with me. : )
